Our Business

About Visit Scotland

As the national tourism organisation, we have 1000 members of staff based in offices and Tourism Information Centres (TICs) around the country. Our key function is to help deliver sustainable economic growth by maximising the economic benefits of tourism to Scotland.

We do this by working closely with private businesses, public agencies and local authorities. At the heart of all this collaboration is the need to ensure that both our business and leisure visitors experience the very best of Scotland. We also act as a national coordinator to ensure that Scotland makes the most of its outstanding tourism assets and realises its potential.

We are a publicly funded body, accountable to the Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism.

Where We Work

VisitScotland promotes all of Scotland and we have offices and Tourist Information Centres (TICs) throughout the country. We also have a TIC at Southwaite in Cumbria. We're a highly decentralised organisation with around 15% of our employees based in our main office in Edinburgh. The remaining 85% are located in our Inverness office, or in network offices and TICs.
