Tourism Framework for Change

We want Scotland to be one of the world's top tourism destinations by 2015. And we're working with partners in the tourism industry, in the public sector, and in communities across Scotland to achieve our ambition.

The Scottish Government's framework document, 'scottish tourism: the Next Decade', was developed in collaboration with the industry and is based on comprehensive research.

The TFFC is the national industry plan and VisitScotland's corporate plan is developed from this.

It sets out what's happening in Scottish tourism today and maps out some developments that are likely to take place.

It challenges the tourism industry to meet customer needs and match global trends. And it pledges support for private industry from public sector agencies.

It provides targets for achieving a step change in Scottish tourism and describes ways of measuring success. Case studies are available to help stimulate thinking and assist tourism businesses gain competitive advantage.
